Daniel Rueffert’s talent and tenure in Mexico has afforded him iconic status as a painter of Mexican life and landscapes. Mr. Rueffert’s work unequivocally captures and preserves the flavor of traditional rural Mexico – from the Republic’s central highlands to its vast coastlines – in a world that is rapidly changing, in a world in which old Mexico is rapidly disappearing.

Mr. Rueffert works in oils on canvas. His works can be found in collections all over the world. His gallery in San Miguel de Allende is located at Diez de Sollano y Dávalos #15.

A native of Nebraska, USA, Mr. Rueffert grew up in South Dakota. He studied at the Rocky Mountain School of Art and Design in Denver, Colorado. He also studied in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato at the fine arts school of the Centro Cultural Ignacio Ramirez El Nigromante and at the Instituto Allende. He taught in the early 1980s as a member of the faculty at the Instituto Allende.

Mr. Rueffert has lived in Mexico since 1969. Currently, he calls Mineral de Pozos, Queretaro, home.
